Next Saturday on the 10th of June, JämK welcomes everyone at Chalmers to join them in the West Pride parade. The parade departs at 13.00 from Gibraltarvallen.

We in EqualIT of course want as many from the IT-section as possible to come, we also want us to be as fabulous as possible! Therefore, we hold a gathering in Hubben at 11 o'clock where there will be face paint, glitter, snacks (vegan) and pride flags to bring to the parade. We walk together from Hubben to JämK's collection point at 12:30.

Hi there!

EqualIT has acquired some really stylish, really good and highly informative books, namely Invisible Women by Caroline Criado Perez. The book is about exposing data bias in a world designed for men. EqualIT will be giving away the book for free this coming Monday, May 15th at 17.00 and will also provide free food and discussion questions. The discussion can be a good preparation for reading the book so that one can reflect back on what was discussed. The event is expected to last for 2-3 hours and there will be yummy halloumi stew served (a vegan option will be available).

This Saturday (April 1st, note it's not a joke haha), EqualIT will be hosting a discussion evening! We'll be watching a video essay and a movie, and then discussing in groups. We'll provide (read: free) chili sin carne before we start. There will also be snacks and non-alcoholic beverages during the evening.

The theme of the evening is "Born sexy yesterday," which is about power dynamics between experienced men and inexperienced women in movies and series. We have selected three movies that we think fit the theme, and all participants will get to vote on which one we should watch. The movies on offer are Tron, Ex Machina, and The Fifth Element. The food is served 18.00.

EqualIT is excited to bring awareness to International Women's Day on March 8th, by handing out free cake to all students at lunch time (12-13) in Hubben 2.2. We invite everyone to stop by and enjoy a slice of cake as we talk about women's achievements and raise awareness about gender equality.

As part of this, we have invited our divisions director of studies and educational counsellor to join us for a Q&A session. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone who has questions about education, career development, or gender equality to get expert advice from our educational professionals.

Join us on March 8th in Hubben 2.2 for free cake and an informative Q&A session. Let's bring awareness to women's achievements and work together to create a more equal world!

Welcome to the Equality Week!

From the 13th to the 19th of February the Equality Week is ongoing at Chalmers. It’s a week filled with events held by JämK and the Equality Groups from the different student divisions. All events are open for every Chalmers student, so this is a great opportunity to meet and get to know people from other student divisions!

This year's theme is Heart-to-Heart: Conversations about equality. A week filled with important dialogues and discussions that one often is reluctant to have. The aim is to shine a light on topics that are often pushed to the sidelines but are important in the work towards equality. The events range from lunch lectures and self defence classes to pubs and karaoke, and the week goes out with a bang with a Gasque!

There are only a few days left until Musikhjälpen starts, so we thought we'd post some more info! EqualIT will go to the Musikhjälpen-buren on Friday 16/12 after school and watch it live, so if you want to join us, we will gather at 17:30 outside the Hub and go together to Kungstorget! Once there, we will offer coffee, hot chocolate and mulled wine while we watch Musikhjälpen live.

Hello everyone!

November 19th is International Men’s Day. M-Likhet, JämZ, EqualIT and JämTD want to raise awareness to this by arranging a lunch lecture together with the organization MÄN on November 17th. During the lecture, MEN will talk about what expectations and ideas we have around men. They will also discuss what problems and obstacles these cause and how we can create change.

The first 200 people will be offered an Express lunch with beverage!

MÄN is a non-profit association with the vision of an equal world without violence. They work for gender equality and try to change destructive masculinity norms to reduce violence. They do this by creating safe zones with programs and projects, but they can also work on site at workplaces with different types of meetings and lectures just like this one.
